The UKs biggest historic event, the Silverstone Classic is as full of race action as it is of off-track entertainment. Live music, fairgrounds, trade stalls and car club displays add the perfect backdrop to a weekend of the best historic motor racing.
Just three weeks after the British Grand Prix, Formula One cars return to Silverstone as the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship headline the weekend. Add to the F1 cars a race for FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship and the weekend is perfectly balanced with stunning cars from each discipline. The FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship always produces a huge grid and it is a showpiece race of the weekend, with star cars and names gracing the grid. This year, the Classic will focus on leviathan sports cars from across the pond as the CanAm 50 Interserie Challenge will have its feature race of its series, some raced at the very first Silverstone Historic Festival back in 1990 when the International Supersports series raced there and it will be great to see the cars again. There will be non-championship feature races for Pre-66 Touring Cars and Pre- 66 Gentlemen Drivers GT cars as part of a busy weekend that will make Silverstone covered in mouth-watering cars.
